If you enjoy melt in your mouth steaks and unique atmospheres, then Molly’s Landing in Catoosa is right up your alley.

Molly’s Landing sits in a rustic log cabin, that’s tucked away off old Route 66 in Catoosa.

The log cabin was originally a kit that was designed with 3 bedrooms with a garage. When owner Linda Powell relocated from Phoenix in 1984, she wanted to have a restaurant that was unique.

“Since the design went through drastic changes, and all interior walls were deleted, we had to install 2 giant I-beams to support the roof,” General Manager Russ White said. “The downstairs hosts the restaurant and the upstairs holds the living quarters and offices of the owner.”

Since opening the restaurant, there have been two additional rooms added, one that overlooks the river and the other room is an adjoining courtyard that’s used for outdoor dining.

When the owners relocated from Arizona to Oklahoma, they brought a lot of treasures with them, so they could decorate the restaurant. If you look around, you’ll see different décor throughout the restaurant. Since opening, some of the customers have contributed their own treasures to the collection.

Also on the grounds is a garden, which they grow their own herbs. These herbs are used on most every dish, to add flavor to their menu. Some of the items they grow are sold in the Catoosa Farmers Market.

When there, we noticed several animal heads, like a caribou and a moose’s head, which just adds to the unique atmosphere.

On the back of every menu, which is created just for the restaurant, customers will find whimsical biographies of the staff.

Some items that are worth checking out are the Sautéed Mushrooms. These mushrooms are sautéed with onion, bell peppers, mushrooms and their famous fish seasoning. A cool fact about this appetizer is that this recipe has made it around the world in the Hwy 66 Cookbook.

An appetizer that is divine is the Spinach Au Gratin, which is their famous creamed spinach with bits of bacon, onion & mushrooms topped with golden brown cheese along with slices of toast. Another appetizer worth trying is the Salmon Dip. Using fresh Atlantic salmon, this appetizer is handmade daily and is served with golden brown toast or GF crackers.

Over on the Meat from the Grill side of the menu, a notable item worth trying is the Peppered NY Strip w/Brandy Sauce $42.62. This steak is from their mesquite smoked grill and topped off with a wonderful brandy sauce that is to die for.

Other items to try are the Quail & Ribeye $45.35, the Mahi Mahi $23.95, which is wild caught off the coast of Vietnam and grilled on the mesquite smoked grill.

All of their meat selections are hand cut in their own kitchen by their award winning staff and most of the dinners come with Potato or Rice, Salad and Bread.

Sitting near the banks of the Verdigris River, Molly’s Landing is a high-end steak and seafood restaurant that is definitely worth the drive to check out.

Opened Monday through Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. and they are closed on Sunday’s.
