[Okla. City, OK] — The Oklahoma Chapter of Women in Lodging (OKWIL) will welcome Terri Haack, Chairwoman of the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s (AH&LA) Women in Lodging program as a speaker for its May 4 meeting at the 21c Museum Hotel in Oklahoma City.

Drawing from more than 35 years of experience in the lodging industry, Ms. Haack will focus on “The Artistry of Creative Leadership,” sharing experiences including creative leadership, challenges facing women in the hospitality industry, career growth, and the current platform and initiatives of the national Women in Lodging organization.

Ms. Haack’s distinguished career spans more than three decades in hotel and resort operations management, with nearly twenty of those years based solely in resort community development, operations, and real estate. In her current role as president of Terranea Resort, she is responsible for the overall operating performance of the 102-acre luxury destination, located along California’s coastline on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, just south of Los Angeles. Under her leadership, the resort employs more than 1,250 associates and continues to thrive as a top Destination Hotels property – renowned for its natural beauty and stewardship, award-winning cuisine, unique enrichment programs and unrivaled guest service.

OKWIL is a joint initiative between the Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association and AH&LA exclusively for Oklahoma’s female hospitality professionals. OKWIL’s key focus is the professional development of women from all areas of the lodging industry through mentoring, continuing education, and networking leading to long-term careers. Additionally, it offers a place to explore women’s role in advocacy and grassroots engagement.
