John Fullbright concert to raise awareness for special needs community
Oklahoma singer-songwriter John Fullbright will perform a benefit concert at 8 p.m. Sept. 25 at WINGS, 13700 N Eastern in Edmond.
WINGS is a special needs community designed to enhance the lives of adults with developmental disabilities through social, vocational and residential programs.
“I am very glad to be able to play this concert for the WINGS organization,” the Grammy nominated artist said. “The work they do is very important in improving the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Playing a show is the best way I can help and songs are also very healing in many ways. I hope folks will come out and support this great organization.”
WINGS provides opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to showcase their artistic talents with the surrounding communities, said Melanie Briley, director of operations.
:
”Our members are artists in their own right, and to say that music moves them would be an understatement,” Briley said.
She said the concert will not only provide a tremendous backdrop for Fullbright’s performance, but it will also introduce the audience to the facility where WINGS conducts its programs, enterprises and space for special events.
Tickets are $30 each. Doors open at 7 p.m. and show starts at 8. Tickets are available online at www.ticketstorm.com/, at metro area Party Galaxy locations or by phone at (866) 966-1777. For more information, call WINGS at 242-4646.
