Warm summer weather brings more spectacular outdoor events in July. Start off the month with a traditional 4th of July celebration in Claremore. The City of Claremore will host its annual 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at Claremore Lake. Thursday’s events will begin with the Kids Fishing Derby from 7:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. The park will then close to prepare for the fun-filled night. The park will reopen at 6:00 pm. Bring the family back for the National Anthem and Raising of the Flag by Claremore Fire Department at 6:30. Followed by the flag raising there will be kids’ activities, food and drink concessions, music by DJ Chameleon Sounds, and an amazing firework show!

Come spend the night at the museum for the Overnight at the Chuck wagon at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum July 12th. There will be a Chuck wagon dinner and breakfast along with activities throughout the night for kids. It’s a fun time for the family, learning about Will and life in the 1800s. Space is limited. Registration fees are; $35 for children with accompanying adult (members of the Will Roger Memorial Foundation), $45 each for non-members. Visit the birthplace of Will Rogers July 20th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for Family Day at the Ranch. The first 20 attendees will be able to build a birdhouse while all others have access trails around the property looking over Oologah Lake with a longhorn herd. There is an abundance of shady trees that are great for picnics! Family Day at the Ranch is free however, donations are greatly appreciated. For more information please call (918) 341-0719.

Food Truck Thursday is still going, and fun for the whole family! Come to Historic Downtown Claremore from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. the last Thursday of the month and enjoy the festivities including food trucks, live entertainment, and activities for the kids. Many of the local merchants will stay open late and all activities are free to the public! Don’t forget to visit the museums. Museum City presents Night at the Museum; all museums will have free admission from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Join the Will Rogers Memorial Museum for another great Will Rogers Movie Night in the newly renovated theatre! This movie will feature some of Will’s silent films. Attendees can enjoy this FREE, family-fun night with popcorn and drinks provided by RCB Bank. Doors to the museum will open at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 26. Stop by the Rogers County Farmers Market, located outside the Museum of History on Saturdays in June to hear live music under the gazebo from 9 a.m. – 11a.m. Grab fresh produce including local honey, eggs, baked goods, and Oklahoma wine and try some wonderfully prepared food by local vendors. You don’t want to miss this great family-friendly event! Don’t forget to take a tour of Claremore’s Museum of History before you leave!
