Cinderella and The Sleeping Beauty take the stage on Jan. 25 and 26

EDMOND, OKLAHOMA (January 5, 2016) – The Moscow Festival Ballet will return to Edmond, Okla. to perform two full-length ballets at Armstrong Auditorium. The event will feature Cinderella on Monday, Jan. 25 and The Sleeping Beautyon Tuesday, Jan. 26, both at 7:30 p.m.

Cinderella brings the classic fairy tale to life with music by Sergei Prokofiev and choreography by Rostislav Zakharov. The production tells of maid Cinderella who loses her glass slipper at the ball and of the Prince who sets out on an adventure to find her. Lavish sets and authentic costumes from the Bolshoi Theatre era add extra wonder to this masterpiece.

The Sleeping Beauty is choreographed by Marius Petipa and set to the iconic score by Peter Tchaikovsky. The performance illustrates the timeless tale of young Princess Aurora who falls asleep after pricking her finger, and only a kiss from the Prince can break the spell. The Moscow Festival Ballet uses 50 dancers to tell the tale, employing the traditional excellence of Russian ballet accompanied by an array of daring leaps, extensions and lifts.

“These classic fairytales, interpreted by the finest ballet tradition in the world, set to these outstanding musical scores, will captivate audiences of all ages. Add to that the superior sightless and intimate atmosphere of the Armstrong Auditorium theater, and this production will be a breathtaking artistic experience,” said Ryan Malone, Armstrong Auditorium concert manager.

Armstrong Auditorium offers flexible ticket pricing systems. Tickets to see the Moscow Festival Ballet start at $45 for balcony seating and $97 for orchestra.
