Introducing New Guest Chef Program to OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (November 20, 2015) – FLINT restaurant has recently announced Joshua Valentine as its new guest chef. Valentine will be a part of the inaugural Guest Chef Program to provide Oklahoma City residents with a variety of contemporary culinary styles. FLINT will continue with its concept of providing upscale casual American cuisine.

Valentine was a finalist in season 10 of the hit Bravo show, Top Chef. A Del City native, Valentine attended culinary school and went on to gain experience at an array of restaurants, including Restaurant Alma in Minneapolis, Local, FT33 and Stephan Pyles in Dallas, along with several Dallas and Oklahoma City-based restaurants. Valentine will be the first for the new Guest Chef Program at FLINT.

“We are thrilled to have Joshua at FLINT,” said Elizabeth Howe, executive chef of FLINT. “He will bring delicious dining to our guests with his flair for great cuisine creations and extensive experience ranging from farm-to-table to upscale steakhouses.”

FLINT created the Guest Chef Program to provide the city with different chefs’ interpretations of the FLINT menu. Those in the program will fill the role of Chef De Cuisine working alongside Howe. This new program also helps to further implement FLINT’s Step Program that develops and progresses prep cooks to cooks to sous chefs and beyond.

Currently, there is no set timeline for a chef’s duration of stay, and future guest chefs are welcome from outside of Oklahoma City. No major menu changes are expected, but guests will get to experience each chef’s unique cooking style and restaurant specials.

“Expanding the Oklahoma City chef offerings is something that FLINT is honored to be a part of,” said Blane Thompson, general manager of the Colcord Hotel. “Guests of the hotel and FLINT will get to experience something new with each chef, and we are excited to debut the program with Joshua.”
