OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 18, 2017) — The Junior League of Oklahoma City has joined with Positive Tomorrows to Deck the Halls this holiday season. Ten league members spent the beginning of December festively decorating Positive Tomorrows, a charter school located in the Oklahoma City metro that serves children pre-kindergarten through fifth grade who are currently homeless.

“We are so grateful for the special memories that the Junior League of Oklahoma City makes possible with their Deck the Halls project,” said Susan Agel,Positive Tomorrows president and principal. “For homeless children, there’s often nowhere to put a Christmas tree, so when they can experience the magic of the holidays in their own classrooms, it truly makes this season feel special for them.”

League members decorated each grade’s classroom, the cafeteria, and outdoor area for the holidays.

“For most of the children who attend Positive Tomorrows, these will be the only Christmas decorations they will have this year. We thought it was important to let each class pick the theme of their tree in hopes to make them all feel very special. We don’t know the stories of every child but what we do know is that they come here to learn and grow just like every child despite their circumstances and we want them to feel at home.” said Blair Bradley, Junior League project manager.
