Apple, one of the largest companies of this era,  held its long-awaited Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday.  This is the first release of new software and MacBooks since the death of former CEO Steve Jobs in October of 2011.  The new products release appeals to every type and age of person.  With over 200 new features unveiled, everyone is certain to find at least one they can’t live without.

One of the new products released is the MacBook Pro with Retina display.  This new design comes without a CD/DVD drive, but is equipped with every USB sector one could need.  The lightweight design resembles the thinness of the current MacBook Air; it is 0.71-inch thick and weighs in at 4.46 pounds.  The Retina display will change the way we see things.  “The MacBook Pro with Retina display pushes the limits of performance and portability like no other notebook,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.  It will bring a whole new meaning to “clear.”

The MacBook Pro is offered only in 15-inch screen and is being sold in stores and online now.  There are two different models to choose from, the only difference being memory and storage.  Prices start out at $2,199 dollars compared to the previous version still available for $1,199 dollars in stores and online.

The highly anticipated IOS 6 software was released Monday as well; however, the product will not be available until sometime in the fall.  Expect to see updates to Maps, Siri, FaceTime, and new features not on the current software.  Apple Specialist, Nick Brown (@NickBrownOKC) explained to us how innovative the new features are.  The maps will now offer talking directions, turn-by-turn navigation, as well as a new feature called flyover.  Apple has been working for several months to take aerial photos so when you fly over a certain city or area, you are presented with 3D maps for virtual flyover.  Siri will also be upgraded.  She will be able to make reservations, find  the latest movie time and much more.  Brown explained that within the next 12 months we should see big car manufacturers like Honda, BMW, GMC, etc. incorporate a Siri-button in their vehicles to answer any questions while driving.

There are over 200 new features to the IOS 6.  An especially helpful feature to Mac lovers is the integration between iPhone, iPad, iTouch and MacBook.   FaceTime between the different products will definitely be a huge bonus;  allowing people around the globe to connect  in ways that weren’t possible before.

Apple is constantly innovating and drawing in millions of people’s attention and business daily.  Steve Jobs left a legacy behind that is constantly changing the way we live our every day lives.  According to Nick Brown, “Nobody really knows when we will see designs without Steve Jobs’ touch. He was said to have pipelined his products five years in advance – but that’s what makes and keeps Apple interesting. We really don’t know.”  Keep an eye out for all of these new products and updates on the market now and coming soon.   We are truly watching history unfold.  Visit www.apple.com for a complete list of new products, release dates, prices, and more information.
