This exhibition features the art of Oklahoma artists; Bryan Boone, Dan Garrett, Klint Schor, Noel Torrey, Eric Wright and David Bizzaro. The evening reception is free and open to the public. The show opened July 20 and will run until January 14th, 2013.
“GEOMETRIX Geometry in Art exhibition ties in perfectly with Science Museum Oklahoma’s newly installed Geometry Playground,” said Scott Henderson, Satellite Galleries Director, SMO. “This art exhibition shows another side of geometry, examining the artists’ personal relationship with shapes, emphasizing the beauty behind math, and why it is important to the creative process. GEOMETRIX will also feature a special hands-on collaborative installation by David Bizzaro and OHM space”
Six established Oklahoma artists have come together for GEOMETRIX Geometry in Art exhibition that showcases their individual geometric ingenuity. Alongside the artwork, the plans, sketches, and equations behind their creations will also be on display. This exhibition of geometric art examines the artist’s personal relationship with shapes, emphasizes the beauty behind math, and why it is important to the creative process. This is an all-ages show that will be fun, educational and inspiring.
“I use my understanding of geometry to help me solve spatial problems,” said David Bizazzo, GEOMETRIX Geometry in Art exhibition, Artist. “When I am illustrating something with complex shapes I visualize geometric guides to help me compose and layout the drawing. This was true for this body of work too.”
“I use math every day in every piece of art I create,” said Eric Wright, GEOMETRIX Geometry in Art exhibition, Artist. “When I do it right, it provides a stable and silent foundation that allows the message to be heard, and this can be seen in this exhibition.”
