Technology in 2013
As 2012 comes to a rapid close and we begin thinking of how to kick off 2013, New Year’s resolutions are at the top of many lists. Rich Wu from Verizon Wireless provides some ideas on how technology now provides many options to help keep and achieve resolutions ranging from organization skills
to healthy living and budgeting. With smartphones and tablets within an arm’s reach, many accessories and apps are available this New Year to help with those dreaded resolutions.
“From cooking, to golfing, to home security and staying in shape, we offer technology that can help you start the New Year off on the right foot,” said Wu, district manager for Verizon Wireless Oklahoma.
Keeping track of weight loss in 2013 is made easy with the Smart Body Scale. This accessory tracks your weight, fat mass and BMI and sends the data directly to your smartphone or tablet. It keeps a timeline of your progression and gives you the option to share the data with a friend or doctor who can also monitor your success.
Another way to continue your healthy lifestyle in the New Year is the FitBit –a smart accessory that tracks the steps you climb and the distance you walk or run while calculating the amount of calories you intake and burn. Before bedtime, slip on the FitBit wristband and track your sleep
patterns and how well you sleep.
If you resolve to organize and save money in 2013, the Cloth app will digitize and maximize your closet. This app will reinvent your closet, increasing your clothing options without spending more money. By simply taking a picture of the items in your closet, you can scroll through the options in
the comfort of your own home.
In the New Year, budgeting begins with downloading the MoBill Budget and Reminder app. To stay on top of your finances and never be late on a bill again, this app will remind you to pay your bills at the most convenient time of day. But you don’t have to rely solely on your smartphone or
tablet to remind you of due dates- this app will back-up reminders onto your Google calendar or Dropbox. MoBill also gives your weekly or monthly updates on your finances.
With the year’s newest technology at your fingertips, keeping up with your 2013 resolutions is easier than ever.
